Wound Care
Generally, it is advisable for children undergoing circumcision to receive general anesthesia to prevent them from moving during the surgery. Professional anesthesiologists will also be present to supervise the surgery. Patients will be awake few minutes after the surgery.
Reminders to child after operation
- Separation of foreskin and glans during operation will induce some discharge on the glans.
- Discharge may happen two days after operation and last for one week.
- Advise to flush the wound after urination.
- Do not swab the discharge on the glans.
Pain control
To reduce wound pain, pain relief is recommended according to doctor’s advice.
Daily activities
Patient can resume their daily activities, but avoid vigorous exercise two weeks after operation to reduce harmful on wound.
